A Chiropractor Changed My Life

When I was a boy I thought I had the worst flu ever, like someone had stuck a poker in my back, pushed it through to the other side and started twisting my guts around. I couldn’t do my school work or play with my friends and my quality of life was miserable. That’s when someone suggested I go to the Chiropractor. I thought “yeah right, I have the flu, what could a Chiropractor possibly do for me?” Finally, I gave in just to get them off my back. When the adjustment was over, so was my “flu”. I didn’t understand how, but it was GONE! The Chiropractor later explained how the area of the spine that needed adjusting controlled the function of the small intestine and that I never really had the flu. He went on to tell me that this particular nerve had become irritated and gave me the symptoms of the flu. By removing the irritation to the nerves, it allowed my small intestine to start functioning normally and my “flu” disappeared! So, I know what it is to suffer and what Chiropractic can do…and I never even had a backache!

I Was Drawn to the Chiropractic Profession

I was training to be a medical doctor, but one day I heard a news report on my car’s radio of how a woman had been permanently damaged by a medical procedure. I put myself in that doctor’s shoes. I thought, how could I live with myself, knowing I had damaged someone forever. When I came home and discussed the news report with my wife, she said, “What about becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic?” I had always gone to a Chiropractor and they had literally given me my life back as a child. And I had been told that Chiropractic care is safer than taking a Tylenol so I knew I would only be helping people. So, once I was done receiving my bachelor’s degree, I was off to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa, to get my DC degree.

My Chiropractic Education

Growing up we were in the Oregon Illinois School District in Ogle County. I liked the small town school experience and the many friendships I made. After graduating from Oregon Community High School, I went to Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Illinois. There I attained an Associate’s degree in Science. Next I received my Bachelor’s degree with premed emphasis form Northern Illinois University in DeKalb Illinois. My Doctor of Chiropractic Degree is from Palmer College of Chiropractic in the Quad Cities. The Certificate of Acupuncture I earned is from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard Illinois.

We Are a Chiropractic Family

I met my beautiful wife Kristy while attending church in Rockford Illinois and after a one and half year courtship we were married in Pine River, Minnesota on August 10th of 1996. We now have two children, Rachel Marie and Remington Drake. We enjoy living in the country, riding our Honda ATVs and are very active in our church (Turning Point Community Church, in Dixon, Illinois).

I am a Chiropractor, but I’m also a chiropractic patient. Myself, my family and my extended family, are adjusted often because we have found our health is greatly enhanced by continuous chiropractic care. Some examples of conditions that chiropractic has helped in my family are ear infections, colic, bed wetting, colds and flu, feet that turn in when walking (abnormal gait), menstrual symptoms, dizziness, headaches, pain shooting down the arm, pain shooting down the leg, low back pain, neck pain, stiff neck, coughing due to congestive heart failure and weakness in arms and legs. My family gets adjusted because we like to enjoy the higher quality of life afforded by consistent chiropractic care.

I derive great pleasure from utilizing a variety of chiropractic techniques to bring relief and wellbeing to our patients at Warner Family Chiropractic.
